All of the major accounting firms in Australia also have significant offices overseas, and a lot of these firms are getting their accounting work for Australian clients done overseas to minimise costs. This trend has also taken place to some extent for Bookkeeping too. Most Bookkeeping firms that have tried overseas outsourcing have found that the quality of work is compromised by the lack of familiarity with the business, and that work done overseas has required a lot of checking and some adjusting to make it right, negating the cost advantage of overseas outsourcing. Our position is that there is no substitute for a personal relationship between a Bookkeeper and their Clients, and that our best quality work – which means the best quality work for you - is usually done by actually visiting our clients, getting to know them and their businesses, and being able to ask and answer questions that may never have arisen had we not visited. We don’t need to visit all the time, but we do need to visit. We say this from having undertaken both onsite and offsite Bookkeeping work for our clients over the last eighteen years.
