Employment Opportunities
We are looking for Bookkeepers and Software Consultants to begin working with us on a casual basis which could become full time if you want and as our client work grows.
If you are already a highly proficient bookkeeper with "hands on" experience in all the functions of a busy office, know the latest versions of either Quickbooks or MYOB very well and would like to provide a mobile service to a broad range of business clients, please email Martin McLean for an initial discussion. Your ability to establish and maintain an easy rapport with clients and to deliver accurate results quickly and effectively is important. You will need your own personal transport to get from client to client effectively.
The highlights of this work are the variety of interesting people you will meet, the things you will learn and the challenges of building or rearranging their particular bookkeeping puzzles. On the other hand, the workflow varies in accordance with our clients' needs .... a Bookkeeper's workflow is generally regular while a Software Consultant's work flow varies more and generally peaks around the windows of time available for preparation and submission of quarterly BAS Returns. In the quieter times we aim to be working on "project" accounts, analysing and reviewing accounts with our clients, doing new Installations and Training, or spending time on our own projects.
Software Consulting and Accounts "troubleshooting" is not for everyone ... you must first be able to deliver very well as a Bookkeeper. Then, essential skills and traits are very strong accounting knowledge, being able to think quickly and clearly, knowing the software very well and persisting until the job has been completed successfully and cost-effectively. The client must get value for the work we do, and our work must be able to stand the scrutiny of the client, their tax accountant, the ATO and our peers.
We will support you in becoming a Professional Partner of Quicken or MYOB and you should be prepared to gain the FNS40207 Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) which is set to become the minimum standard for Bookkeepers in private practice in Australia.
